Schwarzer Reiter specializes in quick and mobile combat, dealing fantastic area of effect damage with Retreat Shot, Marching Fire and Limacon with its Spread attribute, and fair single target damage through Limacon and Caracole. The build scales incredibly well and can do all all content in the game with the right amount of investment.
Ranger fits into a Schwarzer Reiter build because it is a great standalone class with no weapon restrictions and has a two very important buffs that increases your damage.
At Rank 5 the build takes the Hidden Class Appraiser for its Overestimate and Blindside, with some useful but rng utility with Devaluation. A very important key class that greatly enhances the builds overall damage similar to Rangers role.
And last but not least is Bullet Marker which helps covers Schwarzer Reiters lack of single target burst. Full Metal Jack has high damage and overheat with fairly low cooldown and the Silver Bullet buff greatly enhances your damage against monsters weak against holy.
Rating of Class 1-10 (my opinion):
Single Target: 7.5
Area of Effect: 9
Durability: 7
Solo: 7
Team: 7
Pros:
- ET viable
- Great single target and even greater aoe
- Low cooldowns
- Easy leveling
- Very mobile
- Gains Hp (and some other minor stats) from your mount.
Cons:
- More expensive than most builds (need to invest in two weapons)
- Takes practice using certain skills
- Appraiser Quest
Stat Distribution:
- 180+ DEX (see below)
- 0 to 60 CON
- Rest STR
You can invest in more or less CON if you want, like I mention in any of my builds it won't lower your damage much if you want more health, but remember you will gain 25% of your companions hp while mounted as long as your pet has stamina.
Depending on your ping to the server you may invest more points, or even all of them, into Dex over strength.
It really comes down to how fluid your Limacon auto attacks feel and how much you invest in your weapons. If you plan on making this your main and/or will be investing a lot into good weapons, armor and attributes then I would suggest full dexterity. Honestly, the 'right' amount of Dex is a really difficult question to answer since there are several variables that determine what is best.
And last but not least, for Spirit I would suggest trying to aim for a piece of gear or two with some, don't spend your attributes in Spirit at all and instead itemize for it. Even with one piece with 40 spirit really goes a really long way for your Sp management.
Skill Distribution:
You will notice that some circles don't have 15 points invested, that's because you can save points from the same class and invest them in the next circle.
Archer:
5/5 Swift Step, Evasion buff that can be shared with the party, though since this build doesnt utilize Archer Circle 2 for the critical bonus anymore its best to not use if there is another Archer in the party that does.
5/5 Full Draw, Just an alright skill, you won't be using this very often but we don't have many options to spend our points on that are important, can be used to interupt skills if the target can be knocked back. Has an attribute that causes Skewered targets to lose 20% of their defense.
5/5 Oblique Shot, Fires an arrow that bounces to another nearby target, fairly decent for leveling until higher levels when you have other skills that are superior.
Ranger:
9/15 Barrage, Fires several shots in quick succession in a cone, deals fairly good damage and thanks to the new Steady Aim attribute. Animation speed scales with Dex and is very good at destroying objects that only take 1 damage per hit, can also be used point blank to land every shot on a single target.
1/15 High Anchoring, Fires an arrow in a straight line that pierces through all targets, has two useful attributes that reduces targets critical resistance for 5 seconds when hit and reduces the cooldown of most of your other Ranger skills. One point wonder skill.
15/15 Critical Shot, An attack that has a 100% chance to critical and gives you a buff that increases all your attacks critical damage by 10% that stacks up to 5 times for +50% critical damage. Extremely powerful skill not only for its critical damage buff, but for the damage it can deal itself too, at level 15 this skill is amazing and no longer drains your sp nearly as much as it used too.
15/15 Steady Aim, A buff that now lasts 300 seconds that increases all your damage by 1% per skill point, and now has an attribute that causes all your Ranger skills to hit 50% harder while applied. This skill is one of the main reasons we don't take Archer C2 for the Swift Step anymore.
5/5 Spiral Arrow, Fires an arrow on a single target that deals a high amount of multi-hit damage that ignores 20% of its defense, also when used multiple times it increases the amount of hits by by 1 (up to a cap of 11 I believe).
We skip Time Bomb Arrow because even with Steady Aim and its new attributes its still kind of a 'meh' skill unless you max it and heavily invest in its enhancement attribute (its basically a single shot of Bullet Markers FMJ but without the armor penetration).
Appraiser:
3/3 Overestimate, The reason why we take Appraiser is in this build. Buff that increases you and your group members off-hand enhancement level by 3.
Since the majority of your damage is your pistol once you are a Schwarzer Reiter this skill is incredibly powerful (especially if it brings your weapon to +11 or +16).
5/5 Devaluation, Useful but RNG skill, has a 60% chance to succeed when cast, causes the target to lose 15% of its Physical Attack, Magic Attack, Physical Defense and Magic Defense.
5/5 Blindside, Hits the target with a critical attack that puts a debuff on it that causes the target to have an increased chance to receive critical attacks (not just from you). Also with the attribute leveled it increases your critical attack on it by 25%.
Schwarzer Reiter:
You can now fight monsters while on a mount, you also gain stats from it:
+ 25% of your companion's Hp
+ 10% of your companion's Physical Defense
+ 8% of your companion's Evasion
You are able to equip a Pistol now as well.
15/15 Limacon, Limacon is a buff that acts sort of similar to Quarrel Shooters Running Shot except for your secondary attack with your Pistol, you may move and shoot at full speed with bonus damage. With the Limacon: Spread attribute causes your shots to ricochet to nearby enemies.
15/15 Retreat Shot, When moving with this buff causes you to attack backwards, incredibly strong skill that takes a little bit of practice to use properly.
10/15 Caracole, Useful with its attribute leveled which basically makes it an aoe burst skill and takes no time to fire. Put your last 9 levels into this skill.
5/5 Marching Fire, Usable while moving, causes you to fire with a barrage of attacks for 10 seconds. Fairly strong skill but unfortunately does not have an attribute to enhance its damage.
Bullet Marker:
A few notes about BM:
- R.I.P and Bloody Overdrive cannot be used while Mounted and require Double Gun Stance which also cannot be used while Mounted.
- Silver Bullets does not add another line of damage or anything, it simply changes all your damage to Holy Property.
10/10 Full Metal Jacket, A single target attack that has a kind of long animation but makes up for it with its extremely high damage, always use this after Blindside for a high chance to critical. Has 4 overheat as well which makes this skill incredibly good, ESPECIALLY at level 10.
10/10 Tase, Debuffs the target and causes your following attacks to add an additional line of damage for the listed attack value for the next 10 hits. Has an attribute that increases the hit count by 3.
5/10 Silver Bullet, Buff that changes your attacks to be Holy Property. It doesn't add an additional damage line or anything special, it's just useful against enemies that are weak against Holy damage or if a Warlock casts Mastema.
5/5 Smash Bullet, Like FMJ, this attack hits incredibly hard, but also applies a damage over time effect. Great skill against bosses.
Important Attributes to level asap:
Archer - One-handed Bow Mastery: Ignore Defense
Ranger - Steady Aim: Enhance
Ranger - Steady Aim: Pro Ranger
Ranger - High Anchoring: Critical Chance
Ranger - High Anchoring: Continuous Fire
Ranger - Spiral Arrow: Critical
Appraiser - Overestimate: Duration
Appraiser - Blindside: Critical Attack
Schwarzer Reiter - Limacon: Spread
Equipment / Core Items / Cards:
Investing in a good Crossbow is still important and a large impact on your damage (Pistol takes priority of course though).
Leather armor if you don't mind sacrificing defenses for some bonus crit, or can get your hands on some Solmiki leather.
Otherwise Plate for more Pdef or Cloth for more Mdef (I prefer Plate personally).
Red Card: Glass Mole Lv10 x3 (+30% Physical Attack for 6 seconds after consuming an Sp Potion)
Blue Card: Nuaele Lv10 x3 (+30% Magic Defense)
Green Card: Ellaganos Lv10 x3 (+30 Dex)
Purple Card: Gazing Golem Lv5-10 x3 (15-30% chance to gain Pain Barrier when hit)

As for giving up BM's potential damage-cap hitting FMJ, for Archers 150 critical rate seems super not worth.
Critical Shot is now amazing, but you most likely want to keep it at level 1 to keep sp costs low since you are only using it for the buff, High Anchoring is actually fairly decent now, and it may be better to go Ranger 3 for +5% more damage and better ranger skill scaling than the +150 crit rate you get from swift step.
Ill most likely update everything later tonight after testing a few things with some friends.

I've done some testing myself and talked to a few friends who play SR even more than I do and we've all agreed that A1-R3-App-SR3-BM is the way to go, you definitely don't want to give up Appraiser, its just too good. With Ranger3 we'd be giving up 150 Crit rate from Swiftstep for +5% damage and the updated ranger skills.
As long as you have a decent crossbow and pistol this will perform better, long gone are the days of just using your pistol attacks, even more so when Rank 10 comes around the corner and we most likely end up going BM2.
Ill update the skill build at least but I won't be able to update the reasoning/description of each skill until I have some more time later tonight or tomorrow. If you have any questions hit me up and ill try to answer what I can asap.
On the Korean servers Rogue C2 instead of Appraiser/BM is more popular (or at least was when I played there about a month or two ago now.
Rogue 1 is kind of underwhelming, you really want Circle 2 or none at all, and of course you'll need to invest in three level 10 werewolf cards. Since they nerfed the fact we can only equip 3 of the same cards its not as effective as it once was, its still fairly good. Personally I think the free damage from Appraiser (especially if you get a +13 weapon) and the increased critical rate debuff from Blindside makes up for it, and BM can easily hit capped damage with Full Metal Jacket if it crits with good enough investment, silver bullet is pretty good too against certain enemies too of course.
Another problem with going Rogue C2 is that in the future they may release another rank 8 class for archer that will better suite a SR build and you won't be able to reset your circle 5 class unless you use a reset voucher while your rank 9 class you can easily rollback if you really needed too if they don't hand us vouchers.

I'm playing with a friend and he want to go for Enchanter build, but we are hesitating about Chronomancer (for Quicken) or Thraumaturge (for Swell left & right arm) . I actually don't know if Quicken is good with Limacon or no, maybe with your experience you should know how to awnser our problem?

Quicken is quite good on SR and scales really well if you are geared but it will cause you to burn through mana even more quickly. Swell Right Arm is ridiculously good on a SR when you arent extremely geared, it adds so much free damage. Honestly both are good options, personally I prefer Thaum though.
