I'm not a fan of tanky builds stat wise, nor of ice wall and blast from my experience.
Would a full Int (some con, maybe 30-50) and an ice bolt/pike focused build work just as well? Wall strikes me as useless/annoying outside of a cryo/psych and blast feels rather random from my past cryo experiences (freeze chance wise).

@Koalila Sorry for the late response, you can for sure go more Int focused or hybrid. With monsters damage scaling not as dangerous as it used to be and gear giving more magic resist and armor it's not as important to focus on Con as it used to be.

Ice wall is still a pretty good spell tbh, even if you can't utilize it yourself every time, other people may be able too instead. Putting points into Ice Pike or something else wouldnt hurt anything at all in the end though!

@Denshi Trying to understand why you think taking up a buff slot with Reflect Shield, not maxing Quicken, and not spending points in nearly every class is any better.

I can understand some people not wanting to max Ice Blast but aside from that there pretty much is no difference between any support cryo/chrono build aside from extremely minor changes that don't really make much of a difference anyways (like 4 points in Backmasking over being in Stop).

Thank you for your helpful and enlightening feedback though.

Which gear is good but cheaper for Sage? cause plated and HP are expensive

Hello Valkoria :) .

Would you recomend Archmage Bangle for this build? And if not. Then what?
Reply
Jul 23rd 2017 19:18:47
@SnugglePugs It wouldn't hurt to get them, they will give you more damage (I would if you go hybrid), if you go full con and focus on just support in ET or something then Dhrag Bracelet isn't bad either.

Or you can wait until we get the Practonium accessory patch and craft those.

Why not 1/15 slow and 8/15 stop?

@Valkoria How does Backmasking work? I read your description that it can revive allies and undo boss skills which sounds very useful. I tried it out at Tenet Garden. So what I did was kill a group of monsters with Ice Pike and then used Backmasking but nothing happened. Thw mobs weren't there or anything. Did a test on Frost Pillar, where as soon as it expires I used Backmasking expecting the pillar to come back.

So what can Backmasking do? Can it affect our player skills even if they aren't in party with me? Can it affect monsters death and skills?

@firetreeman Bringing a player back to life is not the same as bringing a monster back, that's what reincarnate is for (yeah I guess its kind of inconsistent with what it can do though).

Try using it right after a group member dies (make sure you are near their body), or use it right after a boss covers the ground with fire for example.

Generally people only use it for resurrecting group members because it costs an expensive reagent to use.

Hi @Valkoria!

First of all, congratulations, your build is really interesting and good for late game.

Well, i'm doing it only for PVE.. i hate pvp/gvg.
Should i wear Plate, leather or Cloth??
Any big difference??

Before i get able to buy/farm a lolopant. or solmiki, should i wear full set virtov??
What bracelets and necklade i'm able to use for a good bonus?
I already got my audras, what gems should i use on my gear?
Should i use always the Audras or sometimes i should change for Rod + Shield? (wich ones??)

What about cards?? anything worth to invest on it?

Reply
Jun 12th 2017 03:12:16
@Lusta Audras is mostly good for just utility spells like Frost Pillar and Ice Wall, so its a good weapon swap. I use Windia Rod and Lionhead Shield (though Vien mace is slightly better but I already had a Windia made).

I just wear Lolopanther cloth and used to use War Mage cloth because I like the offensive stats it brings, but generally people will wear Plate for the extra HP and physical defense it brings, so its up to you which you prefer, the difference isn't that huge.

Arch Mage Bracelets and Max Peta, or you can wait for the practonium accessories when they come out.

Cards aren't that important either really, I just use nuaele cards for the extra mdef though.

@Valkoria Thank you for the guide, however why not Enchanter at C8? Especially if doing ET? It seems like it would be stronger?
Reply
Jun 9th 2017 08:45:39
@Rietty Missile Hole is a very good mitigation skill, and you can duplicate Frost Pillar with Micro Dimension. Enchanter is kind of in a wonky place right now, it's really not that good and only fits in niche builds, but maybe that will change with rank 9.

@Valkoria for ET or party play, with Full Con are we able to do some damage? About your Cryo skills, I hear people saying in game that Subzero Shield is a must have for survival even in PVE. Does Subzero Shield actually block damage and then damages and has chance of freezing the enemy?

Could you go more into detail why you didn't take Subzero Shield?

I love all of you guides. They are pretty detailed.

Jun 3rd 2017 16:23:31
@firetreeman I actually never leveled Sub Zero shield for ET, with how tanky the build is and with a right setup on the team I never had an issue so I never bothered trying. I only used Sub Zero shield for pvp during the reset event and it was amazing there though. It never felt like it prevented damage, but it does deal damage.

@Valkoria Thanks for your explanation. For backmask what does increase the skill level do? I just read the skill description and I don't get it.

Are you running a full CON build?
Reply
Jun 4th 2017 00:24:42
@firetreeman It increases the range of the spell, I maxed it because sometimes when a player dies they desynch and shows there body somewhere it isnt so the extra range can make the difference between actually hitting a player or not. Its not that important to max but the points aren't that important after maxing Quicken, Haste and Backtrack.

Yes my build is full Con, but like explained in the guide you can go half/half int/con if you want, the build is flexible.

Great build, but would cryo c1 linker c2 instead of cryo c3 be a good idea? I'm considering it because the link is only 22s CD and the frost pillar is 45s and both are useful for gathering mobs. The down side is that it's not the same CC, but it would still have ice wall, ice bolt and frost pillar. What's your opinion?
Reply
May 24th 2017 20:16:13
@gmeyerp Linker isn't as strong as it used to be since they nerfed its hit count a ton, though it's still a good ability I just don't think it fits a Chronomancer build as much as it used too.

Is there anyway to incorporate Rune Caster into this build?

For instance, if you one did decide to go half INT or is having Sage just significantly better because of Missile Hole?
Reply
May 24th 2017 07:26:05
@Jash You could swap out Sage, but be warned Rune Caster skills are really slow cast, so generally you'll only be using Rune of Ice before you fight a boss but not the other skills while in combat, it's just too easy to get hit in 4 seconds in most situations.

But yes it would work, you could do a ton of damage while still being support.

A lot of points in Backmasking, how much does it effect your team other than reviving them?
Reply
May 24th 2017 02:56:52
@Ethersword I like the skill points in it because sometimes a player desyncs on your screen and you miss them by a short distance at level 1, so the extra distance can really save a run of ET for example, also it doesn't really sacrifice anything anywhere else anyways.

Hi ! ^_^

FULL CON is very difficult for anyone who plays alone?
Reply
May 23rd 2017 13:00:21
@phlv1990 I wouldn't recommend it, but you can go hybrid Int/Con if you wish to deal more damage and make leveling easier, It won't hurt the build really.

Hi, im fallowing a similar build and i have some questions. You don´t like subzero shield? It isn´t worth it? And about ice blast, is it good enough to take full 15 levels?
Reply
May 22nd 2017 06:03:13
@Molzak Ice Blast is amazing yes. Don't care for subzero shield unless you plan to pvp.

Hi, I'm following this build rn, and i'm a long time now without playing... I just want to know some key equips, things that i should look for and that work well with this build..
Thanks <3

@GuZanoti Just be sure to keep your weapon up to date as best you can since weapons have the biggest impact on damage now and maybe try finding a friend or guildmate to level with since this is a full support build, leveling will be slow alone.

But as for specific gear, nothing in particular, just try to focus on leveling and work on gear when you are 300+ when you can make easy money from Saalus and 290 dungeon runs.

Rune Caster in Rank 8 maybe is better?
Micro Dimension Duplicate Frost Pillar:
2 Frost Pillar Ice Blast Cause 2x more dmg.

Ice Rune increase 150% damage ice skill:
Ice Blast Will cause 2.5x more dmg?

but is a good aoe damage/support build
Reply
May 21st 2017 20:14:06
@afrodiyuki Both can work, but this is literally the most popular ktos build for a reason, it keeps the party alive and buffs the groups damage (the focus of the build).

If you really want a Rune Caster I suggest leveling a Wiz1-Cryo3-Ele3-Runecaster and going near full Int, it can deal some of the highest burst in the Wizard tree, This will be my next wizard guide before moving onto other classes.

@Valkoria does the hybrid work better for solo? cause it's not easy to always find someone else to party with
Reply
May 22nd 2017 21:59:45
@lucent.arclight Yeah you can go hybrid, it wouldnt hurt the build. It's very flexible.
Reply
May 23rd 2017 00:11:03
@Valkoria sorry for the bother again. Same equipment as your other builds for this one? also rod and shield best for this specific build?
Reply
May 23rd 2017 00:32:47
@lucent.arclight Now that Cryomancer scales properly, having gear will greatly improve your damage, so yes it will mostly share the same gear of all my other wizard builds, though you can wear plate and try to build more defensive if you like.

@Valkoria hey so 50/50 means if I have 122 level up points, I should invest into 61 CON, 61 Int or can I let Con stay at 50+ and rest into int?
Reply
May 23rd 2017 01:38:02
@lucent.arclight Half Int, half Con; 61,61. But really its up to you what you want to do, stats aren't as important to this build as others are since its job is to crowd control and support. Damage comes second.
