Doppelsoeldner is a high risk high reward style Swordsman class, it specializes in high damage multi-hit skills using a two-handed sword. Doppelsoeldner is one of the if not the highest damage Swordsman class.
Highlander and Barbarian synergize extremely well with Doppelsoeldner because of the many skills that enhance its damage output.
Highlanders Skull Swing may only last a couple seconds but causes targets hit to have zero armor and Barbarians cleave debuffs targets to take 50% more slash damage for several seconds.
Rating of Class 1-10 (my opinion):
Single Target: 9.5
Area of Effect: 8
Durability: 4.5
Solo: 7
Team: 7
Pros:
- Raid viable
- Extremely easy leveling
- High burst and sustained damage
- Several low cooldown skills
Cons:
- Fairly Sp hungry (nothing mp potions can't fix though)
- More squishy than other swordsman builds due to Deeds of Valor (19% more damage taken)
- No swashbuckling for easy group leveling
- Shinobi Quest
Stat Distribution:
- 120 DEX
- 50-100 CON
- Rest STR
You can invest in more or less CON if you want, it won't lower your damage much if you want more health and faster/higher hp recovery. Stats don't impact your damage as much as they used to since they changed them, most your damage will come from weapon damage and transcendence.
It also depends on what kind of content you are focusing on; if you are playing with others, playing mostly solo, doing Earth Tower or how much you are investing into gear on the character.
Skill Distribution:
You will notice that some circles don't have 15 points invested, that's because you can save points from the same class and invest them in the next circle.
Swordsman:
5/5 Bash, With the attribute leveled it causes knockdown, very good for following up with Punish: Earthquake (Doppel skill and attribute).
5/5 Gung Ho, Buffs your Physical Attack but lowers your Physical Defense. Scales with strength.
5/5 Pain Barrier, This buff prevents you from getting Knockback, Knockdown or Staggered and greatly increases your chance to resist status effects like Frozen.
Highlander:
15/15 Crown, Debuffs the target with Shock (lowers INT and SPR) and the amount scales with strength. Causes Moulinet to deal double damage. Copied by your Shinobi clones.
10/10 Moulinet, Animation scales with Dex and deals double damage if the target has Crown debuff. Copied by your Shinobi clones.
10/10 Skyliner, Great filler skill, one of my favorite Swordsman skills in the game. Animation scales with Dex and has 5 overheat. Deals extra damage when the target is bleeding (Cross Cut).
1/10 Cross Cut, Causes bleeding (scales with strength).
3/5 Skull Swing, Great skill that debuffs the target removing all its armor, unfortunately all armor crush skills got nerfed in duration and only lasts 5 seconds now.
5/5 Vertical Slash, Hard hitting skill that deals even more damage depending on how many debuffs the target has.
Barbarian:
5/5 Cleave, Gives you +50 Critical Rate and debuffs the target to take +50% more slashing damage for several seconds. Copied by your Shinobi clones.
5/5 Helm Chopper, Double hit that has a high chance to stun.
Doppelsoeldner:
15/15 Deeds of Valor, No longer requires getting hit to keep stacks up, one buff that increases damage dealt and damage taken. Very good skill that makes you deal incredible damage.
1/15 Punish, 1 point wonder, with the attribute it causes a large earthquake that hits several targets in an aoe.
1/15 Mordschlag, Hits for strike damage and has overheat 5. Copied by your Shinobi clones.
1/15 Cyclone, Scales well and is still one of Doppels best skills still despite it getting changed quite a bit.
9/10 Zornhau, Doppelsoeldners hardest hitting skill, with the attribute it causes it to hit multiple times for more damage (be sure to max it). If you start hitting the damage cap with better gear you can move up to 3 points into other skills.
6/10 Zucken, I used to not invest into Zucken due to how well Cyclone scaled, however due to the cooldown difference and slight damage gain I took 6 points away from Cyclone and put them into here. Deals more damage if the target is shocked and with the attribute leveled it will hit more times for more total damage.
10/10 Redel, Another very good skill, with the attribute causes it to hit even more times for more total damage.
1/5 Zwerchhau, Debuffs the target like Barbarians Cleave too (stacks), one point wonder. Copied by your Shinobi clones.
1/5 Sturtzhau, Another skill you only invest one point into, good enough at level one. Copied by your Shinobi clones.

And for those who are interested, I came to the conclusion that Sw1-HL3-Barb1-Doppel3-Shinobi-Barb2 is the best for now.
Until IMC decides to release another Rank 8 class that focuses on 2H swords or skills that can be used by any weapon that would synergize with Doppel I'm just going to put this character on Hold. I will pick it up again when that happens, which I'm certain that IMC knows its kind of stuck with nothing to pick after rank 8 (especially when shinobi gets nerfed soon).

and as the other guides can you tell me or put what will be good equipment/cards/ for this guide.

Sad though cuz Murm is a pretty fun class and I don't think there are any well written guides for the class on tosbase, the ones that were good back in rank 8 are out of date or no longer showing. Sorry :(
As for the guide update, I'm having a really hard time deciding on what is best for Doppel since now we have two 'filler' ranks after rank 8, feels really bad backtracking especially at rank 10, even though Doppel is still a great class.
Ill be messing around a little more before the event ends, my doppel is the last character i need to do.

Retiarius feels pretty good with nak muay even though they don't look like they synergize much on paper.
Retiarius is also getting a pretty big buff when rank 10 comes out by having its net last full duration on bosses instead of half, with some other minor buffs to most of its skills, which the debuff only lasting 3.8 seconds is probably the only complaint I had with the build since it felt pretty hard getting all of your hard hitting pierce skills off before it wore off.
Single target is pretty good, aoe is just okay, and cooldowns are fairly low with a good amount of filler skills thanks to nak muay, Retiarius's cooldowns and overheat are going up in rank 10 too.
I may write a guide for it, but first I have other things I need to do first, but just thought i'd let you know a little about a nak muay build Im trying out and im pretty happy with it.
Its definitely no shinobi-murmillo though, thats for sure.
early late: Primus gear with STR/CON/SPR (STR above 70) and stamina is kinda good, but priorize STR & CON

The key is dual debuff just 4 sec overlapping for u to dps...so after Sturtzhau, double slash (or Crown + Moulient) , Kunai, or maybe add a Zouhau (or Katon) then dual debuff almost ended, only remaining 2* Cleave with your remaining skills...dont forget skill spent during Bunshin add CD...so dont think that time will enough for u to use 5*Mordschlag...
Mordschlag is copied by shinobis, you'd be crazy to remove it, its the last skill you should be spamming that is copied by your clones, I have no issue getting all my skills off before Bunshin no Justsu ends, but maybe latency has impact here? Even more important if you have a Chronomancer with you and you are doing a boss that doesn't explode in 10 seconds.
Zornhau with decent gear hits the damage cap, generally you'll move those points to Sturtzhau or Cyclone when this happens. Honestly, the dual debuff is good but its not the sole thing makes Doppel strong, with good enough gear you'll be hitting insane numbers even outside of it.

Moveover...your BD Cyclone 1 so i guess it is for solo or there are another flexible/large range/good AoE rate/good damage skills Dop3/HL3/SW3 have, but i am not aware.
Played a while as Doppel3 with HL3 and found it very static and the need to apply X-Cut as debuff was cancer all day long and mostly ended that the mob died already from party members before I could land a single Skyliner.

Any ideas of improvement or why HL and SW3 are over Barb?
Frenzy is kind of bad because you shouldn't ever really be auto attacking unless you are under geared, it takes way too long to build up stacks and skills will do much MUCH more damage, Warcry isn't very good other than just for extending debuffs duration.
Pouncing is kind of underwhelming and Giant Swing isn't really useful in pve.
So all that really leaves is Siesm, which is fairly good now that can be copied by your Shinobi clones and Cleave which you could have as a single circle. Barbarian just doesn't offer much for investing 3 circles to it, you lack filler and its best skills arent that great in the first place, most skills are too long of a cooldown.
From what I've tested, it passes away from increases by +50%.

A question: is vertical slash that good? Asking because i have a similar build, Swordsman 3 > Highlander 2 > Barbarian > Shinobi > Doppel 2 and I was wondering if it was worth it to change for this. The question here is because the clones copies Double Slash and, after cleave, it's devastating. Is it worth it to trade it for Vertical Slash (Highlander 3) or even Doppel 3? Thank you!
- Doppel3 is way too important for the build, otherwise you are giving up on all the attributes that make Doppel extremely strong (that's not saying that your build may be weak or anything though).
- The whole SW3 vs HL3 debate is kind of silly imho, because they are both very very strong. I've reset my Doppel and tried both now and I don't think one is clearly better than the other, I felt like bosses (both world and album) were melting.
Vertical Slash is really good, it deals great damage just from your own debuffs (even more with other players) plus you have Cleave which makes all your slash skills have 50% more damage (and other players too) and you get a bonus 50 crit rate buff.
Double Slash is also really good because it has very high chance to crit and is copied by your shinobi clones, and the cd is quite short.
Maybe one performs better than another? but I don't see much of a difference on my Doppel.
