Also this build is out of date, it hasn't been updated for rank 9, you can see that by it not having a rank 9 and the date listed on the top. Maybe you should slow down and take a moment to read.
PD build
http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/qtdpygfhss/
taoist build
http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/c3i8opfxvk/
are both these viable in earth tower as full supp more or less
if not what could change ? (i really dont like dmg focused classes thats why i have non)
Thank you!
Single Target: 6.5
Area of Effect: 6.5
Durability: 8
Solo: 7
Team: 9
What happened..? What changed your mind?
1. Chaplain is a really bad choice for a support. Aspergillum does not affect your party, Deploy Capella sounds good on paper but in fact it only serves to mess up buff timers and buff limits, Magnus Exorcismus has really bad scalings for a skill that requires a pre skil, and Last Rites has minimal differences from Sacrament. Chaplain, in fact, leans more towards a DPS playstyle rather than a support playstyle, and is only taken so as to allow solo players to have an easier time leveling.
2. Priest's main skills are resurrection, blessing, revive, and mass heal. If you are not maxing them, there is absolutely no point in going priest2 and beyond. Aspersion is really really bad - defence scales non linearly and your party most likely already have 1.5k and above defence, which makes the additional defence from aspersion worthless. Even stone skin does better at mitigating damage than aspersion. Exorcism is a really bad skill, it scales terribly, and is only worth taking because you have your blessing ticks to make up for the damage.
3. A PD without bloodletting is not a PD. I cannot emphasize this any further. Your basically giving your whole party free dispeller, and if u cast it tgt with divine might you get 100% uptime on status immunity, which is insanely helpful throughout the game content. Also healing factor lvl 10 is an overkill, you get 100% uptime at lvl 6. Incinerate is not really worth maxing since the modifier per level gain is really low, but you can max it if you wish to do so.
4. Cure lvl 10 is useless. Additional levels do not grant u btr status removal, and your bloodletting technically already covered that. Additional cure levels only give you more damage, and since cure damage scales on magic attack and you're taking high/full SPR, it will not do ANY damage. Rather than getting lvl 10 cure, leave it at lvl 1 and max safety zone so as to allow your DPS to hit the targets without fear for some time.
5. Full SPR is a bad choice for end game. On solmiki floors, if you misposition even a SINGLE BIT as a full SPR char, you WILL get one shotted immediately. Taking CON instead, will help you NOT get one shotted, and additional blessing damage from full SPR frankly speaking, will not make or break a run.
6. War mage set is bad for priest, except for the boots. Has far too low stats, you will need a 315/270 purple HG robe and gloves with suurit plate pants for maximising SPR. Keyarc leather gloves is good if u can get your hands on it as well.
Last Rites is a decent buff for autoattacking DDs, but there are few autoatackers in the game.
> A PD without bloodletting is not a PD
That's up for discussion. In endgame your party can easily afford dispellers and definitely doesn't need another buff taken from buff count.
> On solmiki floors, if you misposition even a SINGLE BIT as a full SPR char, you WILL get one shotted immediately.
That is not true. I do 35F runs and WB daily as full SPR in 315HG plate gear and I have no problem surviving.
The rest is true. This build is really useless in endgame content and it doesn't do decent damadge soloing neither.
NB : people not destroying your work, they just want to help people who blindy follow yours, thats what im doing now
just wnt to ask something..
1) do ressurect need max lvl? it is for low casting and hp restore only right?
2) do we need that exorcise skill?
3) if i can get some extra point from ressurect n exorcise..should i put all into mass heal or max stone skin or all for revive?
Resurrections levels decrease the cast time, which is quite important.
No you don't need exorcise, its a fairly decent attack spell but you can put points elsewhere, if you choose to skip it though don't put points into chaplains magnus exorcismus.
leftover points can go where ever you like, the build is fairly flexible in regards to how you want to play it.
If you are playing with other classes that have a few buffs you can choose to not use your weaker buffs like Aspersion (getting buffed in a future update) or Monstrance, or just carry Diano scrolls, they're cheap for when you rarely need to use them.
Heres a screenshot of having every possible buff the build has up at once: http://imgur.com/a/LDdkE
1. Build is ok for soloing I assume? I don't have much friends playing the game so I might be soloing a lot.
2. Regards with the weapon, do I use mace or rods(I am starting so I am sorry if I don't know the names of the weapons yet).
3. I am looking at the skills, so I will normally just do auto attacks with buffs on correct? The priest buffs use items though, if I am starting will I be able to cover the cost of those items? I assume that while levelling I will always try and keep the buffs up right?
1) Soloing is completely fine once you become a Chaplain, prior to that it can be a little slow, but Rank 5 is only around level 120 which is a day or two of playing. Use the ratings at the top of the guide to have an idea how every build fares in each field.
2) Use a mace, but Windia Rod at level 315 is pretty good too.
3) Mostly auto attacks aside from your couple damage over time abilities. All the buffs are extremely cheap, it won't be a problem.
Also using your own buffs for leveling is entirely up to you, generally its best to buy buffs from a pardoner shop until your own buffs scale well with higher levels and gear.
Is it really that fast to level? Just doing the quests?
There's someone on the tos forums who leveled a new character to 300 in something like 5 hours I believe? Something extremely fast (mind you I believe that was with several dungeon reset scrolls).
But yeah, do quests and focus on the orange story quests for stat points and dungeon/missions.
Question though about Chaplain, i remember it being a "hidden" class. Do i just get priest 3 and somehow it would show up or do i do something?
you clearly stated they can take some con in your guide if they wanted to. The reason for max aspersion was the skill of chaplain as well so i get it.
Revive can easily be taken by moving some skills around. I was gonna take lvl 5 revive myself by not maxing aspersion(it is at lvl 10) since the damage (272% VS 322%) is not much of a loss imo.
You can also not take a max healing factor, but i do think that you maxed it so that you have some time (when needing to do something else) in between the cooldown and duration, else you gotta keep casting it whenever it goes out, which sometimes you probably can't do.
The most funny thing for me is that the guide clearly states that it is not a full support build, but people are expecting the build to do stuff full supports do. O_O some people just skip to the skills probably and not read the whole thing.
I don't play tos as much as I used too anymore due to other reasons so maybe this is for the best anyways so I can move on to greater games, I do wish the community the best and hope this game grows into something beautiful. Maybe when ktos gets rank 9 I'll pick things up again.
I wouldn't mind them, especially if you yourself used the build. People play differently anyway.
I am following your guide atm. and i was wondering if it would break the build if i went - incinerate 5 - blood letting 5?
Also can you add items in your guide. Should i go for agni or is another neck item better?
Thank you for the guide.
kind regards.
Regarding item.
I was thinking high level items to aim for, Maybe from easiest to obtain to hardest.
Thanks again :).
If you're looking to make a more supporty version of Chaplain instead, its better to go something like Miko/Taoist instead of Plague Doctor 2.
I prefer Max Peta necklace since it will boost your Spirit abilities and everything else thanks to the Int as well, but Agny is fine for the damage boost on Incineration too if you'd like.
Thank you very much Valkoria :)
Can you please provide some tips for gear that goes well with this build? Especially on low levels like 50+, 100+, etc. I could not find any guides regarding cleric gear.
All I would recommend is keeping your weapon as high level as you can, and maybe use an Arde Dagger (or any of the other elemental damage daggers) for a while since it increases your damage significantly for leveling.
PS: my frend now making new cleric again with proper build taking revive and bloodlet, cos he often get scolded too by public build cos not learn the skills,
thanks, hope it help the others for take skill wise.
Okay let's start now. Not every build is for ET, and a new player isn't going to be hopping into Solmiki without first understanding the game well themselves (which defeats the point for them because most experienced players won't need a class guide).
Not saying this build isn't for ET though, I've cleared with this up to floor 35 with my static without much difficulty at all, but honestly we clear up to floor 30 with pretty much any of our characters. Remember, this is a guide for a class build not a guide for ET, not anywhere does it say that this build is designed for ET (again, this build can do ET quite easily though).
But anyways... Bloodletting is actually not needed for ET at all. The skill isn't even that great in pve, if it were needed you'd see a MANY more Plague Doctors in ET but you don't because Plague Doctor doesn't really offer anything specifically important for it (most serious groups are going to have a Taoist if anything). Though it wouldn't hurt the build to get it if you really wanted.
One thing I will agree with you though is that you would take Revive which is helpful if your group is progressing through for the first time or don't have a chronomancer in the group, but that's easy to fix with changing skills.
So yeah... Not sure why you're bringing up anything about ET when this build mentions nothing about it. If anything, your friend could easily ask a question here about ET or if it works there and what tweaks he can make to make it easier instead of assuming a build is designed for it specifically.
pretty sure you failing in earth tower has nothing to do with the build.
Welcome, If you have any questions I will do my absolute best to answer them as soon as possible and send a Like if you enjoy the build.
Sorry for maybe sounding snide, but I'm more than happy to help anyone who has questions, there's a reason why I spend hundreds of hours making characters and writing guides for a game I love playing. It's hardly my fault that someone chose to jump into content they weren't prepared for and never took the time to ask any questions.
