♡Fair Warning:♡
If you wish to use this build, just know I am changing it a lot as I go along leveling, as well with any updates, buffs, nerfs, new information, etc. It's part theory craft, but I am confident in it. I kept it private for a while just for that reason, however. If you follow it to a T and I change it up, well, you knew it could happen. My suggestion is if you like what you see, copy it to your own simulator - little tip of the hat (credit) is nice though.

♣Description:♣
Good for DPS, tanking, bossing, party support, PvM, and PvP. Single target, AoE, and defensive mixture. Also brilliant to view, speed eye candy! Jack of all trades, master of none? You decide, but I love it.

♢Stats:♢
STR 1, DEX 1, CON flat 80-100, and SPR flat 30. SPR for mana regeneration, smidge of MDEF, and of course more mana to use in general, but over 30 is a waste as MDEF does not scale well. Your main problem as a Swordsman is magical attacks which cannot be evaded, so finding a way to add HP & MDEF should be a priority. I'm going to say scale CON where you see fit, just remember too much can result in your damage suffering. STR and DEX play off of each other, so this is why I say 1:1. With too little STR, even with crits your damage will suffer. Too little DEX, you will lose evasion. As a rounded build you want both physical/skill damage and physical evasion to be the best they can be together, not separate. Of course adjust where you want to, because if you wish to play a super tank, perhaps you'd want more DEX, but then again this build probably isn't for you. My advice is to always compare builds, figure out what you want from a class, and then make your own!

♠Armor & Weapons:♠
(*This list is just to give you some idea of what you may want to aim for. You may check this website's item index for more.)
• Zacharial Bracelet - It's a free, quest bracelet. One of the best starters so don't pass it up. All stats +3.
• Cafrisun Set - All stats +1, Earth Property Damage, and HP recovery. Affordable.
• Roka's Leather Armor - Another quest based, free armor with DEX +8, Evasion +14, and Critical Resist +31. I prefer it to Cafrisun when available.
• Virtov Leather Robe - Critical Resist +47 and Evasion +19.
• Roxona Leather Boots - CON +3 and Stamina +25. Consider these highly as your auto attacks will rely on Stamina.
• Roxona Leather Gloves - DEX +3 and Critical Attack +35.
• Roxona Leather Pants - Dark Property Resist +8 and Pierce Defense +7.
• Roxona Leather Armor - SPR +5 and CON +5.
• Vubbe Fighter Gauntlets - One of your biggest problems as a Fencer will be your AoE Attack Ratio. This has +2 AoE Attack Ratio, Physical Defense +1, and STR +10.
• Pokubon Pants - Evasion +21. It seems no one has yet to find them though!
• Lolopanther Set - End game gears here. Set effects: Crit +46, Earth Property Attack +42, and DEX +25. Gloves: AoE Attack Ratio +1 and Accuracy +33. Boots: Critical Resistance +31 and Max Stamina +18. Pants: Evasion +17 and Earth Property Resistance +36. Armor: Evasion +33, SP +512, and Earth Property Resistance +44. I'd honestly only work on this if you plan to use the entire set, and this gear is by no means required.
• Petamion - All stats +8.
• Max Petamion - All stats +14.
• Lolopanther Metal - AoE Attack Ratio +1, DEX +20, STR +20, and INT +20. Again, end game and by no means required.
• Crystal Bangle - Evasion +14 and Maximum Attack +10.
• Hunter Bangle - Evasion +15 and Attack against Beast Type Targets +13.
• Rapid Bangle - DEX +8 and HP Recovery +40.
• Gladiator Band - AoE Attack Ratio +1, STR +16, and Critical Attack +94.
• Phada - AoE Attack Ratio +1, Physical Attack +30, and Critical Attack +114. However, -47 Evasion.
• Sissel Bracelet - Physical Attack +21, Critical Rate +37, and Accuracy -20. Triggers Frenzy for 5 seconds when an enemy avoids your attacks. If you stack Frenzy 8 times, you get Physical Attack +235, Movement Speed +10, and reduces Physical Defense +88. Caution though, it will be hard to activate it at times with high DEX.
• Arde Dagger - The most popular dagger in game, it adds Fire Property Damage +153 and removes Fire Property Resistance -38. Easily farmable at the level 90 dungeon.
• Karacha - DEX +11, Attack on Medium Types +61, Fire Property Attack +153, and Fire Property Resistance -38.
• Venom - CON +14, Attack on Plate Armor Targets -114, and Poison Property Attack +178. 2% chance to inflict Poison that deals 6165 for 10 seconds.
• Velniup - AoE Attack Ratio +3, Critical Attack +114, and HP Recovery +22. This is nice for Dina's Bee Farm, Demon Prison District 2 grinding, and until you are able to use Rapiers.
• Catacombs - Probably the best that is easy to farm. AoE Attack Ratio +1, Critical Attack +202, and HP +1661.
• Magas Rapier - Highly preferred if you go into a party knowing you will be a tank. Critical Rate +22, Block Rate +43, and Attack on Plate Armor Targets +136.
• Venier - Generally considered the best. SPR +19, Holy Property Attack +236, all Fencer skills +2, and 3% chance to inflict additional Holy Property attacks.
• Lolopanther Rapier - AoE Attack Ratio +1, Attack on Large Types +207, Earth Property Attack +50, and all Fencer skills +2. End game and the generalized bossing rapier.
• Zalia Kite Shield - Best starter shield and easily farmable. +40 MDEF and +1 Block Rate.
• Beetleback - +1 Block Rate, HP +1615, HP Recovery +16, and Poison Property Resistance +62. Again, easily farmable at the level 90 dungeon.
• Sage Wall - SPR +13, Magic Defense +99, Block Rate +1, SP Recovery +20, and Holy Property Resistance +46.
• Aias - Critical Resistance +164, Block Rate +2, Block +84, and an 8% chance to reduce 50% damage when hit.
Headgear Enchants:
• Critical Attack
• Critical Rate
• Physical Attack
• AoE Defense Ratio
• Holy Property Attack
• Elemental Attack in General
• Evasion
• Movement Speed
Tips:
• Pretty much anything pre-200 works, but you should still aim for decent gears before then.
• The stats you want are DEX, CON, STR, Critical Rate, Critical Attack, Evasion, Magic Defense, AoE Attack Ratio, AoE Attack Defense Ratio (PvP; GvG mostly), Block, Block Rate, and additional property damage/attack. Of course if you feel there's something else you lack depending on what you choose, go for it.
• Leather; level that attribute for more evasion! With four pieces of leather armor your evasion increases from other evasion attributes by 50%. If you find you do not need the 50% increase from other attris however, perhaps you'd like to add a piece of plate for more defense and whatever else you are lacking in/could always use more of.
• Some people choose to switch between leather and plate. If so, be sure to level your plate attribute as well!
• Try to remember to stay balanced for generalized gear. You may want to create a set just for specific purposes too, such as bossing or PvP.

♡Skills:♡
(*Not expanded into upcoming ranks I have listed at the bottom of this wall of text, just the ones listed on the simulator.)
•Swordsman 1 - Bash is quick with a wide hit box range, at level 3 has a knock back attribute for tricky situations, has three charges, and good damage. You may find yourself using this even at later levels, and you can toggle knock back on and off. (*Monster baseball: Mob, smack them to the right, sprint, smack them to the left, huehuehue! They won't even have a chance to stand up. Hilarious in PvP too.) Gung Ho is a good buff that scales percentage wise unlike Concentrate which is a flat number, so it can be used for some time for boosted damage if needed. I alternate often between this and Guardian in the Pelt circle (cannot be used together) depending on the situation. Pain Barrier is just a God send that any Swordsman should pick up if you don't wish to be knocked around like a pin ball. Thrust isn't worth it in my opinion without bleeding attributes from circle 2 Swordsman, it has a very small hit box range, and eh damage.
•Peltasta 1 - Umbo Blow is a circular AoE. It also may cause stun with attributes. Rim Blow is another go to knock back skill, but cannot be toggled off. The damage is nice, but I often skip using it at lower levels because you don't want your targets knocked back unless you're dying, but really there's not much else to put the points into. Always max Swashbuckling for that 11 monster aggro, you will not have a problem finding a party at any level in the game with this skill. Guardian 1 because at later levels, all that matters is that 18% Evasion increase. It's beautiful. Plus you don't want to detract from your damage too much at early levels and the duration is longer than the cool down.
•Barbarian 1 & 2 - Helm Chopper is a great small AoE skill (3 with no buffs/equips) which has the most potential in PvP, but still good in PvM. Seism is your go to big AoE skill (5 with no buffs/equips, huge hit box range), and may be one of the first attribute damage increases you'll wish to level. Both Helm Chopper and Seism can cause stun, so again great for PvP. You would follow these skills with Cleave, which is just golden damage, increasing critical rate and damage on stunned enemies. Cleave is fine on it's own too if your other skills are on cool down for some reason, and you can even follow Umbo Blow up with Cleave if it stuns. War Cry will be your big buff for enemies. Also not bad if you're with a party grinding, need to pull more aggro, and Swashbuckling is on cool down.
Why not Frenzy? This build doesn't include C3 Barbarian, which allows you to stack it with a C3 specific attribute. You will get far more use from Helm Chopper in it's place. Embowel just sucks because it has such a small line of attack and the animation is slow. Stomping Kick's damage just isn't worth it, but instead of one button you will be busy spamming two, and again, the animation. (*Save 5 points from C1 Barbarian for C2 since only Helm Chopper and Cleave are available.)
•Corsair 1 & 2 - Jolly Roger is just a wonderful damage buff for parties, though at this current time it has a few bugs. It's also a blessing for farming, sometimes giving you extra item drops and silver from monsters. If you wish you could leave this at 2 for the party buff/corsair attribute and allocate points else where, but below 5 if you want to use it for farming, the results are abysmal. Iron Hook is the skill for PvPing here. You cannot move - you can however use skills - and having Keel Hauling at lvl 1 allows you to pull your target to you; causing Bleeding with an attribute. Follow this up with Fencer, Corsair, or Barb skills, you've done some hefty damage to your target. Only level 1 Keel Hauling though, as the damage from the actual skill just isn't worth the points. Dust Devil is a great small ranged but circular AoE, except you will do more damage to which ever targets you are facing when the animation finishes. For me it's a really tough choice between leveling DD to 10 or Jolly Roger to 10 in C2, since both have wonderful uses - so choose wisely if you're a fan of both.
Hexen Dropper is your Corsair single target damage, hitting 6-7 times per charge; it's great for a small burst. Double Weapon assault is where Corsair really shines, allowing you to connect your auto attacks and deal successive damage! Making Corsair one of the only true close combat, high attack speed classes - without skill spam. Also a good way to allow your mana to recover during combat, using potions or mana recovery buffs from allies. Although this skill does use Stamina, so be sure to do the Stamina quests (hidden quests with spoilers) and use gear to raise it further. You should have little to no downtime in the DPS department, save sprinting in circles as all good Swordies do. By this point I shouldn't have to tell you Stamina Pills are your friends. (*Hint: If you played Guillotine Cross on Ragnarok Online, and loved it, this is the class for you.)
Unlock Chest is just useless unless you plan to grab some chests, provided you have keys from bosses (a common misconception is you do not need actual keys), and then plan to reset skills. Alright if you want to make some quick, one time silver I suppose.
•Fencer 1 - Lunge is one of your buffer attacks; a 50% evasion increase, it also has decent damage it's self with quick animation but if paired with a slash attack afterwards, it shines. Attaque Coquille is the same with Piercing attacks, minus the evasion, so we leave it at 1. Esquive Toucher has what some consider slow (but fancy) animation yet it gives a 30% evasion boost at level 3, so paired with Lunge (if you want to use them together, Esquive > Lunge > Slash Skill) you will have a 70% evasion increase. Add Guardian (see Pelt), that's an 88% evasion rate. All of these skills have a low cool down as well, so it's easy to keep up. Wearing Leather Armor, plus Dex stats/other gear increases it further, which should bring you to or close to 100%, if not even over it! (*Esquive Toucher's animation is cancellable by moving but the hits will still land.)
Sept Etoiles hits for a grand total of 7 times, best paired with Attaque Coquille for that damage boost! (*Little technique advice on SE: Try to use this when you know your target won't be moving or you won't be interrupted.) And finally Flanconnade at 1, a no cool down block skill. Not any higher because your damage points are best spent else where and it is an SP drainer.
(*You may wish to take Corsair>Fencer>Corsair rather than Corsairx2>Fencer. I prefer it to get the evasion quicker for high level map purposes. Adjust to your preference.)
(**Using a rapier that adds +2 skill points to all Fencer skills is highly recommended, not only for the damage increase but it will increase the duration of Lunge's slash boost and Attaque Coquille's pierce boost.)

(*Subject to change of course, as I'm really undecided, but what I am considering:)
• Fencer C2 - Lunge 5, Sept Etoiles 10, Attaque Coquille 5, Attaque Composee 3, Esquive Toucher 5, and Preparation 1.
Possibly C3 for 9 if it's released and if it's any good.
• Corsair C3 - Pistol Shot 5, Double Assault 10, and Hexen Dropper 10.
• Shinobi C1 - Kunai 5, Bunshin No Jutsu 5, Mokuton no Jutsu 1, and Katon no Jutsu 4.
There are also more classes on the way, so we shall see what the future holds!

According to you what attributes should i max first ? (the most worth and useful) Because it's my first SM/Fencer ^^'
Hello. :3 Sorry for the late reply, haven't been by here in a bit.
Always max the utility attributes, like Bash applying knock back at level 3, Swashbuckling's HP pool increase, Guardian's evasion, etc first. Generally they are cheap, and only go to level 5-10.
On damage attributes, Seism for max AoE damage, you will be using it forever most likely unless Rank 8 can offer us more AoE, and probably even then, plus great for catching targets in PvP. I also think Helm Chopper is a wise investment, since as you increase your AoE ratio with gears, you'll use this for a small AoE attack as well. These two skills at level 35+ can net you easy overkills, so more experience at DIna's Bee Farm too. Highly consider Dust Devil too, the damage alone without Lunge is a bit weak at level 5. However with some attributes pumped in, the damage increase is nice, and at level 10 on C2 Corsair can be significant.
After these, I say just level which damage attributes you first that you think need some oompf. In the end if you're really dedicated to the class you'll want to max them all anyway.
OK ok thx for the reply ^^ and i don't gonna take the attribute of peltasta cuz i take take Swordman C2 ^^' i was going to another build before i saw your buld
Well, as I say always compare builds and then make your own. I've found it's the only way to really enjoy it. :3 I'm glad my build has helped you!
Yey your build help me to makes my own build on a reroll ^^
Here's my build based on the Ktos Buff
http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/98svsl73kb/
If we get the Ktos buff Cleave will give +50% damage on slash attack
Warcry and Frenzy = Reduce CD
That why i take Barbarian C3 to have lvl max of Warcry and take Pouncing for grind/maping
if i use rapier+shield, means i cant use corsair's skills right ? sry im new at this game CMIIW
and if i use rapier+dagger, seems peltasta rank is useless
Rapier + Dagger for most things including PvP, Rapier + Shield if you go in knowing you are specifically going to be a tank, and you can easily alternate by setting your weapon swapping. So you'd just Alt + Z during combat. As for which Rapier, Venier is considered the best giving Holy Property damage and +2 to Fencer skills. Catacombs comes close. Magas is nice for tanking. Shields there is a plethora, have a look at this site's items index. Some are easy to come by, some not so much. I'd only invest in the best if you plan to tank a lot or have your other gears finished.
Also, by the time your 200, you will rarely if ever use Umbo Blow or Rim Blow for damage, maybe utility or if you do not have time to weapon swap and you need to keep your shield on. Pelt is mostly for the utility of Guardian, Swashbuckling (which can be used with a dagger), and C block for tanking.
your answers really helps me .
what do u think if i go like = SW > PELT > BARB c2 > Corsair > Fencer c2 ?
i wanna go full pvp build and i think i just need that hook skill from corsair to help me catch enemy, what do u think ? is it a bad idea for sacrificing corsair c2 to fencer c2 ?
sorry for my bad english
That's actually a very popular build that works great. It was originally what I was going to make my main and it is one of my alts future builds. Plus you never know, we could get an amazing circle 3 Fencer skill when Rank 8 is released. You may however wish to look at other builds, as mine once you hit Fencer is designed just for Fencer C1.
If I was going Fencer C2 with this build, I would take:
Lunge either 5 with Esquive at 5 as I like Esquive since the animation is cancellable (allowing you to hit with it and move on to another skill, so two skills hitting at once), that would be an automatic 100% evasion right there. However many people do not like Esquive, so you could go Lunge 10, which would also give longer duration to your Slash attacks boost for not only yourself but your party members. Attaque Coquille at 5, again, same reason you'd want to extend Lunge to 10, longer pierce boost, damage isn't bad either, and the animation is quick. Preparation 1, the block is pretty crappy since it only lasts during the animation and you're better off just holding C block if you need to tank, but what you want from this is again, Pierce boost! Animation is also cancellable so you could Preparation > Attaque Coquille > Pierce attack for a nice burst. Leave Flanconnade at 1, really no point in taking this higher as damage points are better spent else where, it's mostly for the utility during tanking, and it drains SP fast. Last 3 points I'd invest into Attaque Composee, a no cool down pierce attack that really takes advantage of that extended time in Preparation and Coquille pierce boost! I hear at just level 10 damage increase attribute, you can do around 10k damage spamming all this together.
Also since PvP is your main goal, I highly recommend looking up some PvP specific builds. Rodelero and Highlander are also nice choices. Highlander gives you some attacks with bleeding and Rodelero has a skill that helps with magical damage. I won't further expand into why though, as someone who plays those builds could probably explain it better.
Honestly before level 200 most anything you pick up along the way will work. Cafrisun Armor Set is great for low levels, and many turn to Roxona Leather Set 200+. Weapon wise you should try to farm an Arde Dagger at the level 90 dungeon, and perhaps a Velniup at 120+ until you can use rapiers. Once you hit rapiers, Venier is considered to be the best by most, followed by Catacombs and Magas. You will probably want to invest in two, as rapier's durability just straight up sucks. You will be at 30% durability before most of your other equipment is even at half loss. As for your end game off hand dagger, it really depends on preference. Many Corsair's choose Venom because of the wonderful poison proc, which is more easily procced by the class because of auto attacks from C2.
For a shield, Zalia Kite Shield is a easily farmable starter shield with +40 magic defense and +1 block. End game there are multiple shields to choose from, some easier to farm than others, so just check the ToS base item section.
I have few question :
1) Since fencer and Corsair is lack of AoE, does building up barbarian compensates that part? I do know the fact that barbs are in CC-mobs.
2) Why not max Jolly Roger? Does it effects on the drop status if I'm planning to max it?
3) For stats, at first I'm thinking that if i invest some points into SPR, it might be a waste.. but then is it suggested to invest in higher lvl?
4) For weapons, is it okay to keep using Arde Dagger till lv200+?
Lastly, I'm in middle of confusion if i should go for this build or SW1- Pel1 - Hoplite2 - Corsair 2 - Dopl.
From what I know, this build of yours is good for solo and farming recipes due to 0 cd of skill and able to poke the mobs more. Wherelse for the Dopl build, its more to farming silvers and AoE benefits..
Thank you in advance for the reply! :D
Hi and welcome to the Swordsman branch! :3
A1:) Yes, Seism is from the Barbarian branch will be your go to AoE, and I highly recommend leveling it's attribute above all else ASAP. At level 35 (perhaps a little less) you can easily overkill bee's at Dina's farm for speedier leveling.
A2:) You should just use personal preference between maxing Jolly Roger or Dust Devil. Yes, it does increase your drops. I recommend for farming purposes it should always be 5+.
A3:) I wouldn't go over 30 SPR. The SPR is just for mana regeneration, a tad bit of magic defense, and of course a tad more mana to use. Over 30 is wasteful and magic defense scaling is just terrible, unfortunately.
A4:) I will say yes, it'll help with auto attacks. If you get the chance to farm/invest in better, of course do. I personally plan to get a Venom.
A5:) I have never played a hoplite/dopple but lots of people seem to enjoy it. I say it all comes down to personal preference.
My build bonuses: You gain more defensive skills for one. Barb will give you stun allowing you to immobilize targets along with Corsair's hook. Cleave which usually follows stun skills will also give you more Critical Rate. You also get a really nice buff from this class with Warcry. Fencer will give you a no cool down block skill, very helpful for tanking and a significant evasion increase. Fencer also synchronizes extremely well with Corsair, since you can use Attaque Coquille + Hexen dropper giving you an incredible burst, since Attaque Coquille bolsters pierce attacks.
Hoplite/Dopple: Again, I've never played one, but you will gain more AoE and damage. You also get quite a boost in critical rate and alright block with Finestra. Quite simply everyone loves Deeds of Valor, and you will defo gain more farming wise having Jolly Roger + Double Pay Earn, because not only extra loot but silver, which drops from both Jolly Roger and DPE.
:D ! Thank you for answering all my questions, so for low level, i should stick to what weapon? Since i have pelt in this build. I'll look further into barbs skill ! I will take note on the SPR part too. I've made a mistake on my Alchemist LOL.
On the other hand i was fond of the DPE + AOE + Jolly Roger combo, but my main reason still sticks to Fencer xD.
Thank you so much for the clarification ! You really help me alot with the confusion haha!
Early game just about anything will do. Swordsman pre-200 have few problems. Aim for that Arde Dagger and it'll go a long way. For a main hand Velniup is very helpful at 120+ until you can use your rapiers.
As for your alchemist if you invested more SPR there, that should be perfectly fine. Mage and cleric classes generally need more than 30 SPR, some archer builds too. For Swordsman though I can't think of a build that would need the mana.
Alright, since rapier is quite troublesome, do you keep spares when go for dungeons/farming? Also, a friend of mine, he suggest to enhance Meteor shield which is 2nd best cost saving shield before Beetleback, since BB shield is going to take 2 weeks+ to farm the varv skin. :D
Oh one more question, how about the attributes?
Yep! I believe everyone should invest in two rapiers, the durability is so terrible but I suppose it makes sense being a "slender" weapon. Venier is rather a pain in the butt to farm if that is your first choice, so you could easily have a Catacombs as your second. I also agree with your friend on the shield.
For attributes you really want to focus on leveling Seism damage first above every other damage increase, since this is your primary AoE skill. Try to grab all utility or small increases first, like bleeding for Corsair's hook or Pelt's stun chance, etc. These are usually not so terrible monetary wise. Then it's really up to preference. I'd level the skills you use the most or feel the damage is some what lacking.
Alright, I'll take note on the rapiers! So since my lvl is low while using Cafrisun set, should i increase my attribute for Leather armor or both leather and plate armor ? Since I'm going for semi-tanker, might as well keep plates armor for tanking in dungeon. :D
Sure! If you plan to alternate to Plate, you should definitely increase both. ^_^
