Ice magic, summons, cute kitties (chicks dig kitties), what more could a wizard even want?
This guide was created with the intention of helping out new Sorcerer enthusiasts, and comprehensively explaining my personal build choice (and why I find it to be my favorite). Everything here is based on experience, while the Warlock segment remains on exterior information and references. I'll try to answer your questions below too, in case something is left out. Hope you enjoy it, don't forget to leave a 'Like'. :)

------------------------------ Cryomancer C3 - Control ------------------------------
The first 3 ranks define the overall focus of the build, and can be changed accordingly. Here's why I chose Cryomancer:
Cryo (rank 3) synergises well with Sorcerer builds, due to the CC being very useful for our rather dumb summons. Snow Rolling and Frost Pillar keep mobs together for your summon to whoop 'dem asses. Cryo also has Frost Shield and attributes who keep you tanky, favouring the use of Rods and Shields. The main goal of this build is having a high CON (HP) stat, so you can endure punishment while being of the front line. Not only that, but it's the best option for PvP, since you'll be resistant and have [Freeze] spells.

------------------------------ Sorcerer C2 - Summon -------------------------
The Sorcerer class is controversial in terms of how effective it really is, but it definetly is one of - if not the - funnest in the game. You summon a goddamn boss, nuff' said. Not only that, but it fits in like a glove with lube on this build.
Sorcerer goes well with Warlock thanks to the kitty buffs who increase dark magic and further boosts our Magic Resist. Summon familiar packs a punch against single targets, and your main summon (from Summoning) deals a great amount of DPS and can tank mobs too. Be sure to get a TempleShooter card, it's by far the best summon out there. It drops from a World Boss, and has a double attack that crits a lot.

------------------------------ Warlock C1 - Destroy ------------------------------
To close it off, Warlock. Dark magic FTW
Despite having rather long cooldowns, their skills work wonders with this close-ranged build. Dark Theurge melts close targets, and Pole of Agony obliterates anything caught in it. See the "Combo" section below for more on why it rocks.
------------------------------ STATS ------------------------------
My personal preference in stats is around 3 INT / 2 CON, though you could go with more CON for PvP (or full CON if you want full-tank mode). There is no point in taking SPR since your summon consumes % of your mana, which means having more mana is useless. It's better to invest in mana regen, useful while your summon is off.
WARNING: This is not a crybaby wizard build, so don't play as one. Although Sorcerer allows you to play it safe, Cryo 3 + Warlock means going aggresive. Real aggresive.
------------------------------ ATTRIBUTES ------------------------------
Have some gold sparing? Focus on these Cryo attributes: Ice Pike: Enhance, Plate Mastery, Ice Bolt: Freeze Chance and all related to Subzero Shield.
'Ice Pike Enchance' should be your main damage focus, while 'Ice Bold: Freeze Chance' is a must have as soon as possible for it's huge utility. Later on, get the Salamion and summon control attributes at Sorcerer (C2), and focus on Dark Theurge and Pole of Agony Enchance at Warlock.
------------------------------ EQUIPMENTS ------------------------------
Focus on Plate armour, with Rods and Shields as main equipments. Cryomancer attributes and Subzero Shield allow you to benefit a lot more from shields than 2h staffs (in most situations).
Some nice choices for equipments:
Level 75-130:
- Riena Plate Armor
- Riena Plate Leggings
- Plate Greaves
- Tomb Gloves
- Beetleback Shield
Weapons:
- Ice Rod
- Drake Staff
- Sestas Rod
Level 130-170:
- Infantry Armor
- Tomb Gloves
Weapons:
- Maledic
- Arch Rod
- Elder Rod
Level 170-219:
- Roxona Plate Set with Cloth Gloves
Weapons:
- Khasti Rod
- Maga Rod
- Catacombs Club (VERY expensive)
Level 220+:
(I'm not even sure of what to suggest from now on, but here goes some equips I've seen around)
- Elgos set
- Virtov Cloth set and Rokas Robe
- Royal Guard set
- Roxona set.
Worthy mention: Beetleback shield is great from level 70 up to 200+ almost.
------------------------------ PvE COMBOS ------------------------------
As a Cryo, Ice Pike will be your greatest ally. It destroys lesser bosses and allows you to farm mobs decently well. When Cryo 3, your mobbing and teamplay potential greatly increases, though bosses can be tough sometimes. As a Sorcerer, get the TempleShooter and manage your mana well, then leveling solo will continue to be totally managable.
Frost Pillar + Snow Rolling / Ice Pike = Farm like a boss.
Summon Familiar / Ice Bolt = Boss harassing and ranged damage.
Summoning = Consistent DPS and mob wave clearer, don't overuse it or your mana will hate you.
Riding (AKA: I'M A COWBOY, I'M A COWB- Oh my mana is over) = Just ride, use the summon spell, drop out. Another mob clearing move.
Dark Theurge = Just walk over things and they die, simple.
Pole of Agony = Flame pillar that deals insane damage and debuffs. Not that good at farming (not) thanks to it's huge cooldown.
Mastema / Invocation = Helps at clearing, deals decent damage AoE.
------------------------------ PvP COMBOS ------------------------------
Cryo 3 rules in PvP. Enough said.
You'll start to face some challenges beyond rank 5, where freezing isn't that much of a threat (and your Cryo skills start falling off in damage). Sorcerer isn't much of a PvP class, but is a worthy opponent in group PvP. Everything starts to change when you get Warlock. Now, you have a burst skill (Pole of Agony) and Dark Theurge, which allows you to actually have a whole lot of damage. Summon familiar lvl10 packs a punch in 1v1 too, while Salamion and your main summon annoy the hell out of people. Your overall PvP combos are great and don't rely that much on freeze status, though you are still OP if your enemies can't do much about it.
Ice Bolt / Frost Pillar / Sleep + Pole of Agony / Snow Rolling = Freeze and profit. Nuke the hell out of people. Main long range AoE attack.
Dark Theurge + Subzero Shield (+Reflet Shield optionally) = If they hit you, they freeze. If they freeze, walk up to them and say 'hi'. By 'hi' I mean kill them. Your main close-range combo.
Summon Familiar / Evil Sacrifice = Ranged nuke, more useful in 1v1 than anything else.
Ice Wall / Gust = Dark Theurge is out? GET OUT OF MY FACE.

------------------------------ FAQ ------------------------------
"What about Sorcerer rank 3? Why bother with Warlock?"
Going high on CON allows you to benefit from Warlock's high damaging / low range skills such as Dark Theurge and Pole of Agony. As we intend to PvP, Sorcerer 3 doesn't really add much to our kit. On the other hand, full PvE builds may consider it, though I find the new skills lackluster. Here's the options for Sorc 3:
Cryo 3 - Sorc 3
Pyro 1 - Linker 2 - Sorc 3
"What if I don't care about PvP? Aren't there other options?"
Yeah, sure. Make a Flame Princess build instead. *cry(o)s internally*
Pyromancer benefits a lot more in terms of consistent AoE damage, and allows the option of taking the Linker class too (which adds a lot to the summon later on). These are the most viable PvE build variations:
Pyro 3 - Sorc 2 - Warlock
Pyro 2 - Linker 1 - Sorc 2 - Warlock/Featherfoot
Pyro 1 - Linker 2 - Sorc 2 - Warlock/Featherfoot
Pyro 1 - Linker 2 - Sorc 3 (Focusing on summons)
As for variations on the first 3 ranks besides that, I have seen people going with Cryo 1 - Linker 2. I guess it's intention is similar to Pyro 1, but with an extra edge on PvP (though not as optimal). They suffer a lot in PvE, but have a better late game overall, though Frost Pillar fulfills the need of links.
"Why not Featherfoot?"
Personally, I find Featherfoot better with Pyro, since both are way more PvE oriented. It's better than warlock in that aspect, but you'll need Linker ranks to make it work at full power.
------------------------------ TIPS ------------------------------
- Get a TempleShooter card as soon as possible, it's the best summon ever. Chapparition and Harpeia is a decent choice too, for their special skills (used on Mount).
- Keep the cat buffs on you at all time, they help a lot.
- Don't use your summon for few mobs at a time, it costs a lot of mana to keep him up. It's best to stay around 2 minutes using him, 30 secs without and rotate. Or just chug MP potions if you're rich.
- Take energy bolt if you feel like it early on, but it gets useless quick after getting Ice Bolt. Earthquake is great for the knockdown, though the damage scales bad later on.
- Ice Blast sucks.
- Gust, Invocation and Evil Sacrifice are all optional. If you decide to take Gust, take at least 5 points or just ignore it.
- Salamion is OK at best, but our bats are better (as skills), though he has some nice debuff attributes and is much better than companion pets.
- Ice wall is optional really, it's not like you're a psychokino.
EDIT 1: Frost Shield is pretty much useless since the ranged damage nerf, so invest those points elsewhere :)
Have fun, and leave a like if you enjoyed the guide :)

can I change Sorcerer C2 to Rune Caster?
But mana regen is affected by SPR, isn't it? :o
So what invest we talk about?
how should u set stats on cryo who needs sp, and sorcer who dont need sp?
plz respond +1
nice but you realize that you have to update it especially after the warlock nerfs and the new rank 8
+ a question is nerco useful in pvp because i've seen alot of nercos in the team battle league...plz respond
Which nerf are you talking about? I'm looking to go Warlock so I probably would want to adjust it just in case.
i know it's quiet old but still this guide is way older & it hasn't been updated since then.
Oh.. Thanks for the update.. I'm close to R7 so I don't want to mess it up :P
BTW. I was reading around do you think it's better to invest in Mastema than Pole of Agony due to long CD.
I was thinking about
Pole of Agony 3/5
Mastema 5/5
I see a lot of Warlock builds that don't use Invocation. Is that even worth investing?
http://www.tosbase.com/database/items/223106/
example:
i have a pants that gave 10 int. and lets use 100 stats as its easier to count
so scenario 1: 60 int, 40 con in total
scenario 2: 60 int, 40 con not including eq stats so it would be in total 70 int, 40 con in total
which way to gauge the ratio?
i realy realy love your guide <3
i wanna ask, do arde dagger being useful with this build or just go with shield? thanks
If my build W+Cry+Psy+Cry+Cry+Sor+Sor
I need u opinion this build better or not ?
Need ur opinion after the subzero nerfed.
How we can defeat another hard hitting wizard?
As we know subzero only affected melee players.
It really sucks. I love the build but i need a reason why this build still viable after the hard nerf. Thanks doc.
