I think SR is easy to control, should be no problem for new player :D
I started as an SR and play 8 months with just this character before have more slaves for Saalus (many other favourite builds xD) o/

Hello, sorry for the late reply!

At low level Archers will have hard time to leveling, but you can use any low level weapon and use good pardoner buff to do quests, Dungeaons, farming as your.. main dmg.

From lvl170, you have many good options on crossbow: Isbality (+350 dmg against devil type - good for bossing), didel grand cross and manamana the best pistol, but they kinda expensive and hard to farm, so you can still use pardoner buff and find cheaper crossbow and pistol from hunting ground lvl.170,220.

From lvl 315 you can use Regard horn crossbow and Aspana until level 350.
At lvl350 Solmiki pistol, Masi pistol are the best, but you still can find a good Primus pistol that much cheaper.
Regard horn xbow is still good enought with high SP, crite rate and crit attack.

About armors, [Leather] type always the best for your SR, hunting ground items always be good options, cheap and good enough for you in every levels.
You can farm Solmiki armors from lvl 300 or 330raid dungeons to find 350 orange armours, or good Primus or Berthas lvl 350 with STR,DEX,CON or SPR as your end game gears.
