Got one on my 5th kill lol. What happened was I killed only 3 waaaaay before; I avoided it since the monster had high defense for my low level character. Went back to do party quest for Coben and got it on my 2nd kill for this time.

Got one after 85 kills. Very horrible grind, only 5 Big Cockatrices spawn at a time in Fedimian Suburbs which is a very spread out and winding map, and they always seem to spawn in different places, usually in small tucked away corners too. No common spots. The accessory itself when equipped doesn't play well with other hats and is often obscured by them. On top of that, I can confirm that this accessory cannot actually be used for writing as perscribed. 5/10 would not reccommend.
